Elementary School Principal
Hello, my name is Melissa Maldonado and I am truly honored to be a part of Grand Peak Academy. I am originally from New York City and have lived in Colorado since 2013. My fiancé works for Microsoft as an engineer, and we enjoy spending time with our family, traveling, volunteering, and hiking with our active pups. Since starting my career in 2005, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching in many wonderful places including Maryland, Texas, and Italy. I’ve taught both primary and intermediate grades and hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in both Childhood Education and Administration and Supervision.
For me, the best part about GPA is the people! I am very fortunate to work with so many dedicated teachers, staff members, students and families to provide a safe and positive learning environment for all of our Grand Peak Bears. As a school we pride ourselves in encouraging students to have strong character through our core virtue program and becoming independent problem solvers who take responsibility for their actions through the use of restorative practices. Also, while at Grand Peak Academy, your child will not only experience academic successes, but will experience a sense of pride and accomplishment in all that they do. Please email me with any questions you may have and I look forward to being a part of your child’s educational journey here at Grand Peak Academy!

My name is Nicole Parker, and I’m so excited to be a part of the GPA family! I was born into a military family and had the chance to live in Mississippi, Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina before moving to Colorado in 1998. I have been in the education field since 2006 and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado as well as a Master’s degree in Leadership and Supervision from the University of Phoenix. I am married to a ballroom dance instructor, and we have 2 boys – Dawson and Rush. For fun, I love going on vacation to the beach, working outside in my flower garden, and trying new recipes in the kitchen. Here’s to a successful year full of learning, growth, and smiles!
